Located on the border of the province of Quebec (the French-speaking part of Canada) and Ontario (which is predominately English speaking), bilingual Ottawa is one of Canada’s most vibrant cities.
The charming Canadian capital is easy to explore on foot and has a wealth of natural and historic attractions to visit, including Parliament Hill, the Rideau Canal, and the Ottawa River, alongside many world-class museums and galleries. Ottawa’s restaurant scene is legendary and certainly worth exploring during your stay in one of the city’s luxury hotels.
To help you choose the best place to stay in the nation’s capital, here’s a list of our favourite luxury hotels in Ottawa Canada. Many of them are pet friendly and within easy access the city’s top attractions and Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport.
The Top Luxury Hotels in Ottawa
Fairmont Chateau Laurier
Consistently voted one of the best Ottawa hotels, the stunning Fairmont Chateau Laurier sets the bar for luxury hotels in Ottawa Canada. The turrets and towers of this ‘Grande Dame’ hotel have stood sentinel over Canada’s capital since its downtown opening in 1912. Named after a former Canadian PM, the Fairmont Chateau Laurier has recently benefitted from significant refurbishment of the lobby lounge and many guest rooms and suites.
Imagine acres of ornate plasterwork and marble, alongside hand-painted ceilings and sophisticated furnishings. We love the 860 sq ft one-bedroom suites with a separate dining and seating area incorporating upgraded Wi-Fi and HDTVs.
Feeling peckish? Choose room service or head downstairs to renowned Zoe’s restaurant for cocktails and light bites.

Official hotel of the Ottawa Senators ice hockey team, Brookstreet is a luxurious resort spa and golf hotel located adjacent the Marshes Golf Club. After working up an appetite on the fairways, head to Brookstreet Hotel’s Perspectives restaurant, helmed by Executive Chef Clifford Lyness. His award-winning cuisine is available for room service and take-out, and uses fresh, seasonal ingredients from farms across Ottawa.
Burn off the carbs in the hotel’s fitness suite or games room, or just kick back and relax in jazz lounge. Sauna, steam and saltwater pools, as well as a range of treatments are on the menu at Au Natural Spa.
We love the 850 sq ft, two-room master suite with its separate lounge and dining work area. Enjoy views over the Marshes’ championship golf course from the balcony and make full use of the two bathrooms. One is ensuite with its own Jacuzzi.
